Academy of Super Smart Society (WISE-SSS) has been offered a degree program that integrates master’s and doctoral courses. The program aims to cultivate “knowledge professionals” who can integrate physical space technologies with cyberspace technologies as well as advanced sciences and technologies, such as quantum science and artificial intelligence.
The application for WISE-SSS will end in the academic year 2025, and a new interdisciplinary graduate major, “Graduate Major in Super Smart Society”, will be established in April 2026 as a successor to WISE-SSS. The new graduate major, while inheriting the essence of the WISE-SSS, will nurture human resources who will innovate new fields (convergence science) by integrating different fields, including not only science and engineering but also medicine, dentistry, and nursing science. In principle, students entering the doctoral course in April 2026 or later are expected to leave WISE-SSS at the time of entering the doctoral course and belonging to a Graduate Major in Super Smart Society.
The information session will cover not only the existing WISE-SSS curriculum but also provide an overview of the new graduate major and the course transition plan. We will also outline the process for joining the SSS Interdisciplinary Matching Workshop, which is necessary for registering for WISE-SSS and a requirement for completing the new graduate major.
