The SSS General Assembly 2025 was held on December 4, 2025, at Tsubame Terrace on the Ookayama Campus of Science Tokyo. The event was hosted by the Academy of Super Smart Society and co-hosted by the Super Smart Society Promotion Consortium. Eighty participants, including students, alumni, faculty, staff, and consortium members, gathered to reflect on the program’s progress and share future prospects.
Program reports and activity presentations
The event began with opening remarks from Prof. Hirotsugu Inoue, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Prof. Kei Sakaguchi, Dean of the Academy of Super Smart Society. They outlined the progress and achievements of the SSS program as it enters its sixth year. Next, program alumni gave presentations on their careers after graduation. Then, consortium members and part-time lecturers gave speeches, highlighting the growing societal impact of SSS educational and research activities. Faculty members introduced the new interdisciplinary “Graduate Major in Super Smart Society,” which is scheduled to launch in April 2026. They also shared a vision for the program’s future development and upcoming large-scale projects.
Networking reception
During the standing, buffet-style reception, participants actively exchanged ideas and information. Students, faculty, staff, and guests from outside the university mingled freely, creating a warm atmosphere that highlighted the growing sense of community within SSS. A quiz session added to the evening’s fun, with prizes for top performers and excitement filling the venue.
As a commemorative gift, all participants received an original keychain featuring the WISE-SSS logo.
At the Assembly, we recognized the accomplishments of the SSS education program and discussed the challenges and aspirations ahead. To realize the Super Smart Society, we will continue to advance education, research, and collaboration.
